I graduated from Manchester Met in 1987 with an Economics degree and then went to The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst for Young Officer training. I spent the next 8 years serving in the Infantry with The Royal Anglian Regiment. After the Army, I spent the next 9 years working for Michael Page and was a joint founder of MPHR in 2000. I left to found Oakleaf Partnership in 2005. I really wanted a business that was reflective of the customers we serve and one where that was aligned with my own ethos and values. I firmly believe we have achieved that ambition and, as we plan for the future, I am in awe of the business we have created and the continuing ambition for growth.
Outside of work, I have two grown-up sons and two fox red labradors that need a lot of exercise! I run and cycle regularly and try and push some weights now and again (just not with my sons!). I enjoy all sports, particularly rugby union, cricket and road cycling. I’ve also been known to smash a few clay pigeons now and again – great fun and no one shoots back at you!
I also work as often as I can with the Veteran community and have been a Trustee of The Regimental Benevolent Charity for the last couple of years.
