Oakleaf Partnership are working with a Not for Profit organisation who are seeking an Employee Relations Team Leader to join and support an established ER team for a period of 12 months to cover maternity leave. The role involves leading a team of ER Specialists and partnering with HR and business leaders to ensure a positive work environment, mitigate risks, resolve workplace conflicts and ensure legal compliance with employment law and policies. This is a hybrid role based in Sale that requires one day a week in the office.

What is the role?

As an Employee Relations Team Leader, you will play a key role in managing workplace conflicts, providing expert guidance to managers, and developing a culture of trust, fairness, and collaboration. You will ensure that all casework is managed effectively and efficiently while supporting the development of people capabilities across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Employee Relations specialists.
  • Advise, support, and coach managers on employment law, employee relations, and performance management, acting as the lead casework advisor.
  • Analyse and produce key HR metrics, such as staff turnover and sickness absence.
  • Collaborate with the wider HR team to support the delivery of business objectives and projects-project management experience is an advantage.
  • Work closely with HR leadership to develop strategies that enhance workplace culture and employee experience.

Candidate profile/experience

The successful candidate will have proven management experience in an Employee Relations or HR Advisory role. You will have a strong understanding of employment law and best practice, with excellent communication skills that enable you to build rapport at all levels. You will be experienced in handling complex casework, possess strong problem-solving skills and have a solution-focused approach. CIPD qualification is desirable not essential.
