Head of Rewards & Employee Benefits

Position Summary

The Head of Rewards & Employee Benefits is a newly created, impactful role responsible for crafting, executing, and managing our compensation, benefits, and employee recognition strategies. This position will focus on establishing a holistic rewards framework that is scalable, competitive within our sector, and aligned with the company’s overall business growth and culture. The primary aim is to ensure that our total compensation and benefits packages remain fair, market-aligned, and in sync with the company’s strategic goals and performance metrics.

Core Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive rewards structure encompassing base pay, short- and long-term incentives, equity offerings, and employee benefits, ensuring alignment with the company’s rapid expansion and talent needs.

Lead the creation and execution of compensation structures, including salary guidelines, bonus frameworks, and long-term incentive programs, ensuring internal consistency and external competitiveness.

Manage the selection and administration of employee benefits, including health, wellness, retirement, and other perks, making sure the programs reflect the varied needs of our workforce.

Design and deploy employee recognition initiatives that reflect the company’s values and celebrate individual and team contributions.

Conduct ongoing research and market benchmarking to ensure our total rewards offerings remain competitive, while supporting employee retention and engagement.

Ensure compliance of compensation and benefits programs with relevant regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.

Collaborate closely with teams such as Finance, Legal, and People Operations to ensure reward strategies align with the company’s broader financial objectives and legal frameworks.

Build and lead a highly effective Rewards team, providing coaching and career development opportunities for team members.

Communicate the company’s rewards philosophy and any program changes clearly across the organization to drive understanding and support at all levels.

Implement scalable systems and processes for compensation and benefits that will support the company’s ongoing growth.

Required Skills & Experience

8+ years of experience in designing and managing compensation, benefits, and recognition programs, particularly within rapidly growing or fast-paced industries.

Proven experience building and leading a rewards-focused team in a dynamic work environment.

Strategic mindset with the ability to design large-scale programs, while also managing detailed execution.

Expertise in compensation, benefits, and equity strategies, particularly within high-growth industries.

Strong analytical abilities, with experience leveraging data to drive strategy and decision-making.

Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner to different audiences across the organization.

Proactive and solution-focused approach to addressing challenges and creating scalable, strategic solutions.

Professional designations such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) are advantageous.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.
