Confidential Job Opportunity – HR Business Partner (12-Month Maternity Cover)
Location: London (Victoria-based) – Hybrid (3 days in office)
Duration: 12-month maternity cover (Mid-March start)

A prestigious global investment firm specialising in alternative asset management is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join their London team. This is a true generalist role, requiring a candidate comfortable working across all HR verticals, from recruitment to employee relations, performance management, and learning & development.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition & Recruitment:

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for designated teams, including drafting job descriptions, liaising with agencies, and managing candidate selection.

  • Drive high-volume hiring in the first six months, particularly for roles in India, Luxembourg, and London (up to 10-15 hires).

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure seamless recruitment processes, including interview coordination, approvals, and compliance with local employment laws.

HR Business Partnering:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees across EMEA & APAC.

  • Provide support and coaching on employee relations (ER), performance management, and HR best practices.

  • Support and manage complex employee cases, including disciplinary and grievance processes.

  • Assist with the year-end compensation review process, ensuring alignment with global frameworks.

  • Ensure HR policies remain compliant with local employment laws and support policy development where necessary.

Learning & Development:

  • Identify skills gaps and training needs across client groups.

  • Deliver HR training sessions and employee inductions in collaboration with global teams.

  • Support leadership in succession planning and talent management initiatives.

Client Group & Stakeholder Management:

  • Partner with two investment groups and all corporate functions across Europe.

  • Manage relationships with a sub-100 employee client group, providing white-glove HR service.

  • Collaborate closely with HR teams in London, the U.S., and APAC to align global HR initiatives.

Strategic & Project Work:

  • Support the opening of a new office including recruitment, employment contracts, and policy development.

  • Lead ad hoc HR projects, ensuring strategic alignment with business needs.

Candidate Profile:

  • HR Business Partner experience within financial or professional services.

  • Strong background in recruitment, including high-volume hiring across multiple regions.

  • Proven expertise in employee relations, performance management, and talent development.

  • Thorough knowledge of UK and European employment law.

  • Ability to work autonomously, balancing strategic and operational HR responsibilities.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with a high-touch, client-centric approach.

  • Degree-educated or equivalent.
