We have a current opportunity for a Labor Relations Lead for a leading healthcare system in Danbury, Connecticut.
This is a regional role, leading on LR for four sites. Total headcount is circa 4,000 with a mixture of union and non-union sites.
This role will support the wider HRBP team across each hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with union representatives.
- Interpret and enforce collective bargaining agreements.
- Lead contract negotiations and participate in labor contract renewals.
- Investigate and resolve employee grievances and disciplinary matters.
- Advise and educate management on labor relations issues and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with HR to develop and implement employee engagement programs.
- Monitor labor relations trends and make proactive recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in employee relations, preferably in a unionized environment.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and collective bargaining agreements.
- Exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven experience in contract negotiations.
- A deep understanding of union dynamics and labor relations strategy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
