Position Overview:

Our client, a prestigious global law firm with a strong international presence, is seeking a Lateral Recruitment Manager to join their New York office. The firm is renowned for providing exceptional legal services, blending in-depth local expertise with global knowledge.

The Lateral Recruitment Manager will play a key role in supporting lateral recruitment for the Americas region, specifically focusing on the recruitment of lateral partners. This position will be integral to driving the recruitment strategy and ensuring a streamlined and effective process that aligns with the firm’s business goals. The role reports directly to the Senior Lateral Partner Recruiting Manager for the US.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with hiring stakeholders, practice areas, and key internal teams to support the firm’s recruitment strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and growth objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with a global team of recruiters to provide a unified recruitment experience, focusing on lateral partner hiring and smooth onboarding processes.
  • Lead and manage recruitment efforts in the Americas, developing innovative solutions to attract top talent and implementing best practices tailored to the competitive legal market.
  • Design and execute recruitment strategies that align with both the firm’s broader business goals and regional market trends.
  • Ensure that all recruitment processes and strategies align with the firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives.
  • Regularly monitor and report on recruitment progress, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as Mansfield Rule.
  • Utilize market intelligence and internal research to strategically source and identify high-quality lateral partner candidates.
  • Prepare and present regular recruitment updates, plans, and progress reports to internal stakeholders, senior partners, and other relevant teams.
  • Oversee recruitment approval processes, manage documentation, and create relevant market reports and business cases to support hiring decisions.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate terms with preferred suppliers, ensuring alignment with market standards and firm objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for lateral candidates, guiding them through the interview and offer process, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling, ensuring all interviewers are prepared and candidates receive a seamless, consistent experience.
  • Support the preparation and execution of internal and external meetings with stakeholders and search firms.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior members of the recruitment team to foster professional development and improve team recruitment capabilities.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and maintain a strong network within the legal recruitment community to support the firm’s recruitment strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 6+ years in legal recruitment, with significant focus on lateral partner recruitment. Experience within a law firm environment is preferred.
  • Skills: Proven track record in managing high-demand candidates in a competitive market, with strong negotiating and communication abilities.
  • Expertise: In-depth knowledge of recruitment strategies, candidate engagement, and advanced talent acquisition methodologies.
  • Confidentiality & Discretion: A demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality throughout the recruitment process.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, partners, and candidates.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that recruitment processes are executed flawlessly with a focus on delivering exceptional client service.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and applicant tracking systems.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Availability to work outside regular business hours may be required.
  • Legal Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation and Benefits:

Our client offers a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $175,000, depending on experience. The firm also offers a comprehensive benefits package.
