UK Payroll & Benefits Assistant

Oakleaf Partnership is delighted to be partnered with a highly regarded professional services firm in the city of London in search of an experienced Payroll and Benefits Assistant. The role will sit within a lean and close-knit team, holding key responsibilities in the end to end running of the monthly in-house UK payroll and benefits.
The Payroll & Benefits Assistant responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the end to end running of the monthly payroll for 600 UK employees in Workday. Including posting payroll journals.
- Process and administer day to day payroll including starters, leavers, SSP, SMP, SPP, using manual calculations when required.
- Support on month end and year end processes & reporting.
- Carry out reconciliations between payroll & HMRC information.
- Support the administration of benefits including, benefit platform (Darwin) management, and annual renewals.
- Reconcile monthly and annual benefits information.
- Support the monthly UK pension management and auto-enrolment.
Essential experience:
- Strong UK in-house payroll experience (processing payroll monthly including month and year end reporting)
- Administration and management of employee benefits. Experience working with benefit brokers.
- Experience and understanding of UK pension auto-enrolment.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong excel skills.
Desirable experience:
- Experience in the professional services sector (particularly partnership models)
- Experience using Workday
- Experience using Darwin benefits platform
