Talent Development Director, Global Programme Manager

A leading global profressional services company is seeking an experienced and dynamic Talent Development Director, Global Programme Manager, to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and implement global talent strategies at a pivotal moment in the company’s transformation journey.

Reporting to the Global Head of Talent Development, the Talent Development Director, Global Programmes Manager (a 12-month maternity cover) will play a key role in defining and implementing global talent strategies. This position involves reviewing and improving current programmes, managing their impact, and collaborating with teams to ensure excellence in talent management. The role requires strong project management skills, a tech-savvy approach, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple global locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate & Enhance Talent Development Programmes: Assess the effectiveness of existing programmes and ensure they align with the company’s strategic goals. Use data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and partner with teams to refine and enhance talent initiatives.
  • Programme Development & Implementation: Partner with Talent Development colleagues and business leaders to evolve and deliver a suite of programmes that support career growth, onboarding, leadership development, and transitions at all levels.
  • Manage the Talent Development Coordinator Team: Lead a globally distributed team to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of talent development initiatives across the organisation.
  • Collaborate Across Functions: Work closely with HR business partners, leaders, and external vendors to align talent development systems, tools, and processes to meet business needs.
  • Support Cyclical Talent Programmes: Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of talent programmes, including performance evaluations, talent reviews, and succession planning.
  • Develop Learning Solutions & Resources: Create tools and resources that empower employees to take ownership of their development while supporting leaders in nurturing talent within their teams.
  • Lead Change Management: Drive change management initiatives to successfully implement new programmes and ensure alignment across the global talent ecosystem.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with internal training teams and external vendors, negotiating contracts and overseeing the budget to ensure programme success.
  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Champion the integration of DEI practices in all talent development initiatives, ensuring an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience: 7+ years in talent management, learning and development, or related fields, with a proven ability to evaluate, design, and deliver impactful programmes. Certification in talent development is a plus.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple, complex projects in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Analytical & Data-Driven: Ability to use data to develop strategic insights and measure the impact of talent programmes.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable working with learning management systems (e.g., Workday Learning) and other talent technology platforms.
  • Change Management Expertise: Experience managing organisational change and driving new initiatives to completion.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent at engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to present ideas clearly to senior leadership.
  • Global Mindset: Experience working in a global, diverse environment with the ability to adapt strategies and approaches to regional and local nuances.
